In my opinion I would still use the "jute" under the carpet. It helps fill it out and makes it look better. However, most carpet kits come with it attached to the back of the carpet. That should work fine. JMO

I usually order my stuff from Zip Corvette and haven't been disappointed with the quality so far. They have rug kits and padding kits separately. Any other company you would recommend for the Carpets?
how does Dynomat hold up with water. I left my car outside in a rainstorm one day (as gas sending unit was leaking). Had top up, windows up and indoor cotton car cover on and I had a 1/2 inch water in the pass side carpet and back deck lid. It was like someone put a garden hose in there. My new carpet and new jute, was laid out in the sun, dried and reinstalled with no damage. I wonder how dynomat would do with that.

It's rubber with tin foil coating so I don't see how water would affect it.
