My Classic Car from 1997
I apologize if this has been posted before. It's Season 1, Episode 10 of My Classic Car (1997). If you haven't seen it, the film about the development of the 1963 Sting Ray is pretty cool. It starts about 9 minutes into the show.

And just think, they did all that crazy driving on those terrible 6.70 X 15's mounted on "fly off/fall off wheels and the "dangerous" drum brakes!
It looked like a typical Corvette crowd though. Car hasn't even slid to a stop and the hood flies up!

I had seen the last part of the Corvette video, but never the full thing, thanks for posting.
I am also very fortunate to have driven my '62 at speed (relative term) with the NCRS MI chapter on those very tracks at Milford, what a once in a lifetime day that was!
Unfortunately I doubt that any of us will ever have the run of the place again like we did that day...

A little misleading - particularly the intro. GM designers and engineers were not given "free reign" to design a new Sting Ray. Much of it was stealth work led by Bill Mitchell including false walls inside the GM facility to hide some of the effort taking place. Peter Brock's new book is very enlightening. (I have a signed copy now)

Dennis interviewed me with my 54 Corvette the day after I finished restoring it and drove it from Greenwood In. to Bowling Green in the 1999 Caravan when my car was in the Evolutionary Display at the NCM. At the end if the interview Dennis asked me if I would let him drive it and we would go for a spin. I told him NO and my interview was never put on his program. Oh well that is life. But have you ever noticed how he always wants to drive your car at the end of his show , sorry not mine. I had just finished a 2 year long restoration on that car and it's first trip was to the NCM and know one was going to drive it but me.

EXCELLENT historic piece. Did you guys notice what sounded like diesel run on just as the hood was popped (around 17:25-6)and the coupe shut down (might have been the convertible).
Great video!
Thanks for posting.
