Alternator issue

I am putting new valve covers on my 66 427 vette. It fits under the brake booster but the alternator will not fit. The back of the alternator rubs the valve cover. Any Ideas? Oh ya and I can't go with a smaller valve cover because of the roller rockers. Thanks for any ideas you guys have.

Got any pics? Use a longer belt?

Do you have the correct mounting Adj/brackets?

I'm sorry I do not have a pic. I have been thinking about taking the valve cover in and having a little notch taken out or looking for an alternator that is a little shorter. I need like an 1/8 of an inch off the backside ot the alternator.

You should be able to finagle an 1/8" clearance out of a different alternator belt. I wouldn't go butchering up a valve cover unless I confirmed that would not work.
