There is a car currently offered for sale on EBay that is purported to be one of the "sacred 15". No documentation is shown in the ad. There are several things about the car that seem odd. Is anyone else concerned that cars are being offered for sale on the various internet sites that may be a little questionable? It would seem to me that anyone who owns a big-block car or hopes to buy one someday should be concerned about prices being inflated by claims made in sale offers. Does anyone reading this forum have first-hand knowledge of the history of the 15 cars actually involved? I have never read any accounts that make much sense.
I'm clueless as well -- is this a reference to the L-88 cars ?

Yes - I saw that; if you COULD get a real '67 L-88 for $200K then I'd be tapping into my Keogh...
The OP needs to add the eBay auction identifier and state what the "sacred 15" is supposed to mean...
I don't think anybody is saying that the values of these cars aren't of concern; especially if they are mis-represented. Just nobody apparently knew what the "sacred 15" meant.
Maybe now you'll get some responses (not from me - I'm not a BB guy).
I guess the red '67 is NOT the subject car. In '67 they didn't have any folklore 427/450hp engines. So I guess we need too find a '66 427 somewhere on e-bay. I love a confusing mystery. Dennis
Yes these are links, and you will have to click on them to review. As to the ebay car you refer to, well, here is an example from the photos, you make the call
