Default Speedometer cable question

Does the inner cable come out from the bottom (trans) or the top (speedo)? Which way does it spin in use? Thanks...

The cable comes out from the speedo end and the rotation is clockwise as you look at the speedo.

It spins the same direction as the speedometer needle...clockwise at the speedometer end, and counterclockwise at the transmission end.

They say there are no dumb questions, but I think I just asked one. Of course it needs to spin the same direction the needle spins. It's early, sorry....
