I have recently purchased this split window after three year search and was wondering what its possibly worth today. This is the 53rd swc made and the 91st vette produced that year . It comes with its total history since day1 and is ano hit car. It has been in storage since 1997 and has 17056 miles onit. The car is currently at dealer getting fresh paint ermine white . all chrome and stainless is way above average glass intact all #s match. has original 327 300 hp 4speed m20 everything works no rips no tears. need some feedback thanks:

Reason: spelling
I would ??? the matching #'s. That early car had a T-10 Not a M-20 ?? Nowhere man is correct, that car with original paint would be big$$$$. Is the miles documented? Lots of odometers did not work on mid years. Stored since 97? Low miles? Lots of red flags.

"M20" isn't a specific transmission (T-10 vs. Muncie) - it's an option code for the 4-speed transmission; on a '63, the date the car was built will determine whether it got a B-W T-10 or a Muncie, both of which are "M20".
You are destroying it by having it painted. Now it's no diffreant then any other 63 coupe
When I got the car it was painted saddle brown around 1972-74 .The original paint code is 936A ermine white ,so i decided to put it back to original color.

Thanks, I admit I have a little learning curve to overcome, however I do actually have all three owners names whereabouts and service records, emisssion records repairs and parts purchases throughout the years .So far all #s match including engine vin # is 30837s100092 still learning and thank you for your input. This is an awesome site.
1. From his mountaintop, the Authority John Z cleared up what could have become a nasty argument with his M20 lecture.
2. The OP, no slouch, headed off the paint color protests neatly.
3. And my favorite '63 - '64 color was mentioned. But Saddle BROWN? That's a new one. But come to think of it, I have described it on occasion as looking like brown sugar!

Don't hear of many painted to Saddle. What color is the interior?
I see you joined the forum today.
Welcome.
Did you buy this car to sell?
Please post some pics so we can enjoy your car too.
Good luck
Tony
Yes I did actually ,and it seems that I have gotten a little attention from either possibly those who think they know it all or maybe some who actually thought that cars like this just dont exist anymore. Im up for a good laugh also. It seems that my description of the car being saddle brown didnt go over very well,so let me describe further for those who like pictures. If you look into a box of crayons and pull out the brown one, thats what color the car looked like when I got it.I do realize that there is an aweful lot of aftermarket and repro parts out there, but this really is the real deal. I will post pics as soon as I can. The interior is black leather not vinyl and carpet does need to be replaced. It was replaced once in 1981 as records show. So have a laugh at my expense fellas, Its all good.
Good choice to return it to white. Saddle is a color few would appreciate.
Regarding value: the classic lines of a split window will continue to become more synonymous with classic Corvettes. Now it may be worth what you paid. In the next 10-15 years ( assuming we have liquidity and growth in the economy) they will be worth a lot (IMO).
Im sure it's a great car. Every car guy wants a 63 coupe in their garage. Since you bought it to sell it, you will probably be better off financially selling it as is and let the other owners do a full restoration or whatever they want. Given the craziness of the market, now is the time to sell a SWC, regardless of condition. I would suggest you look into the 17,000 mile claim, since the car has been repainted, carpet changed, seats re upholstered etc. most low mile cars dont have these many changes, maybe there are some that were overlooked.
