Hi guys i just joined recently with a purchase of a non matching engine 67 convertible. when searching the stamps on the motor it leads me into a number of answers but appears to be a 65 327. i am posting all the numbers as best i can read them . any help would be appreciated.

3 1 the lower #s correspond to the above 8 possibly being a 3 and the above I possibly a 1

That's a 327/250hp 4-barrel Powerglide engine originally installed in a 1968 Impala built at the Tarrytown, NY assembly plant.

Welcome to the fiber glass and resin club. Since the engine not original to the car anything could've or possibly was changed such as the heads. Your right a 250 hp 327 likely wouldn't of been adorned with double hump heads. Hey, maybe the heads came from the original engine. Check the casting #'s and dating of heads.
