Default offset trailing arms ?

There is little information on ordering tire and rim combo for trailing arms offset . I installed 1965 ( disk ) offset trailing arms on my 1964 . I might have to buy a shorter rear spring as well .
I like the look of the Craiger 61c581242 rims with the spinner 09095-2 . I like the look of the wider tire on the back. Thanks for any help including pictures.

I'm sure you realize wheel/tire fitment is much more involved than just trailing arm clearance. There are plenty of threads on max wheel/tire size. I suggest starting with what do you want to use and go from there.

I think the snubber mount and e brake cable are the first limiting factors.

Tom I will keep looking. I assume you do not have offset trailing arms. I would like to hear from those who do and any issues that came up. Pictures would be great. Don't want to re invent the wheel This is an expensive decision only to be made once Thanks

Actually I do have offset trailing arms on my 65 with 9" wide 17" rims and 275/50 tires on the rear. Also have small flares. I guess I’m trying to point out there are many limiting factors with tire/wheel changes. Just because you have offset trailing arms it does not mean you can put any wheel/tire combo you want on the car. I did a search for “widest tire” on the C1/C2 forum. There are 13 threads. Lots of info. Hope it helps.

I checked your location. If you were close I'd say come on over and look, measure or whatever you want to get what you need but Canada is a bit of a drive!

Tom that is the kind of information I am looking for. Thanks. Would love to come over but I would need to dig out of some snow.
Link doesn't work for me. My confusion is the offset trailing arms add I believe two inches. There is also a offset on the rim people talk about 4.5 inches. so the combination of the two sort off messes me up. Plus the width of the tire inflated.found this site that helps http://www.wheelwright.co.uk/knowled.../fitment-guide

I would say the best way of doing this is to put the offset trailing arms on first before ordering your wheels and tires. Then, with tape measure in hand, you will know exactly what will and will not fit.

Let us know what you put on for rim sizes and off sets for future reference. Are you going with 15" rims or upgrading to 17" or 18"? The larger rim size offers even more clearance.

Looking at 17 inch. should resolve the spring issue having to be shorter. I think I will make a cardboard templet then measure from all the edge distance that might impact tires . Thanks

What size off set trailing arms did you go with, 1" or 2"?
