My New to me 64 with an AC question

Oh boy, I have a dilemma, maybe? At dinner last night with friends we haven't seen in a long time and I pull the old phone out to show my friend the new 64 and the first words out of his mouth is "Do you want to sell it?". "I have always wanted one of these and I just sold my business and now can afford one, quote me a price right now before you get the car." So I throw out a number with close to $10K profit which I think is fair and he say okay. Let him know when to come get it.
So I just spent 3 months looking for a 64 AC car and this is exactly what I wanted. Not a 65 up and I can't afford another 63 so just perfect. Didn't really want red but the tag colors are great for the future. And the profit still keeps me right below the 63 range and chances for one of those with AC for Texas is slim for sure.
I will pass most likely but time for a safety check, any doubters? Here's a couple more pics of my new car?

No. I will be keeping it. Just a first for me for the car to not even be delivered yet?

Ok. Well I know you must be ready to see it.
With all this 365hp A/C talk, I wanted to get some opinions in value. What do y'all feel they are going for these days?
We recently purchase a 63 SWC and need to make some room and have talked about selling our '64.

Wow, small world.
Here is my 64 365HP car with Factory A/C running R12. Took me an entire summer to get it working with original parts.
In addition, it is an NCRS Top Flight car.
Have been doing some research on the Engine Pad stamping with other NCRS cars and would appreciate a photo of your Engine Pad for my research.
If you have any questions, please ask. Check out the plate also.

Yes, Jack put it up on craigslist with no pics and I found it maybe 6 hours later. Asked for pics, he sent them, talked to Bob Lund about it and bought it that night. So very quick transaction. Wasn't even sure what I bought? Yes, everyone says including my wife that you want to be my car. It will be very well taken care of. Thanks

Classic,
I will send pics of the engine pad to you and will be curious to hear what you say. Beautiful car you have! Mine will always be driven but it will be put back 100% original. I would like to know how well the original AC works and do you think it's enough for Texas Summers? The system on mine I hope has not been left open for long?

I owned three mid year air conditioned Corvettes back in the late 70's and early 80's. All were R-12 Freon original compressor cars. They were a 65 coupe , 300hp and 67 coupe 300hp and 66 convert 350hp drivelines. All ORIGINAL cars.
The AC was so efficient that my wife always used a sweater. It was not uncommon to get 40 degrees out of the center duct after a recharge. From what I hear today it is hard to find a good AC service tech that understands the old system.
There are a few people into these old units and proper operation. I need to check my address book when you get ready.

It's hard to get a feel for values... especially on these were only a few ever really come up for sale. Also, I understand all of the variables that affect prices... documentation, condition, etc.

Agreed, the Ebay car in that post sold for $65,000 as I sent him an email to find out since I was buying one. His description was of a pretty good car that was driven?

I guess the true test is what is actually selling.
I did notice $5k for knock offs seems a bit low. I havent seen them that cheap in a while.

She's here! Very nice rainy morning, cool out and me and a truck driver with some classic cars. Given the car a once over from the outside and not bad. Tires had the correct pressures, no leaks I can see for now. The 2 biggest issues are the passenger power window will only go down but not up. So was going to wash it off but have this problem first. Second is the driver inside door release doesn't work. So both door panels need to come off immediately this morning. Need to search the forum for some answers.

Okay, got a new power window switch with the car wonder why..... But that only solved the intermittent drivers side and didn't solve the passenger side. So off with the door panel and found lose wires so next need to rip the motor out and clean everything up. Wished I had a manual! But the forum is the next best thing. Found the original silver paint overspray behind the panel.
Car idles terrible and now I know why, I am guessing the fuel injection unit that was on it was recently taken off because the carb was lose to the manifold and one open vacuum fitting. So got it idling better but still too rick. I do have a manual for the carb so after the windows. In a few hours it will be much better.........
