Sorry, but I have another Exhaust System question...I've been looking at the AIM as well as some other diagrams (exploded views) of the exhaust system and I'm a bit confused on the Heat Riser Valve vs. Spacer...
My car is a 66' with 327-300hp; Auto with 2" pipes. I pulled off some ratty old headers that previous owner had put on and now trying to replace exhaust system back to stock...I've got the Manifolds and I've got the back section of the exhaust pipes and am just trying to get the manifolds connected properly to the first down pipe sections
Is there supposed to be a Heat Riser Valve on one side and a spacer on the other..Do you even need the valve and spacers...just not sure what parts to order...everything else seems pretty straight forward.
Heat riser on the passenger side (USA passenger side) no spacer on the left. The heat riser is not needed if you live in a warm climate but if omitted then a spacer is used in its place.
