I retrussed my roof and added an additional 4 feet. I retracked the garage door and added a side garage door opener. Lastly, I installed a Bend Pac 4 post lift. I should have done this decades ago. Jerry
Jackhammer rented at Home Depot! Got it back to the store same day! Had dug it out over the course of a few days. Then I framed in with plywood forms to pour the concrete. Rented a trailered mixer. Had the sand and rock dumped in the driveway! Pull the forms off and final trowled the walls, let that set up a day, then I came back next day and poured the floor with some grading and I also installed a little pit drain with a pump if I wanted to wash down the underside or the garage. Thus cost was a minimal for labor, so it was basically the materials and rentals!
The guys I sold the place to, loved it! He was a car guy and somehow talked his wife into purchasing my place just because of it! (I read minds also! So I know that for sure!)
The only thing that would have enhanced the pit, would be to have a readily accessible toilet, so you don't have to go into the house mid project and greasy to get yelled at. My next pit will or garage I will probably incorporate a urinal!
