Default 3810 Carb Question

Looking for an opinion from those that know. Purchased a brand new 3810 Holley Carb for my 67 L79. The carb is an early 70's vintage GM over the counter replacement that I got from a reputable ol NCRS god. It was properly stored for all these years, sealed in the internal plastic bag and its never opened cardboard original Holley box. Some say I should have it rebuilt as the seals may have dried out and some say put a fast kit in it to replace the old design bowl gaskets as they weld themselves to the carb body once fuel and heat are added to the mix. Looks perfect and I tend to think why fix it if it is not broken but I do not want any leak issues when I start the motor as it is a fresh restoration and nicely detailed. Your thoughts are appreciated. Steve in Ottawa, ON

Replace the cork gaskets in it that don't shrink and then leak. You won't be sorry if you do but sorry if you don't.

And change the accelerator pump diaphragm - I use viton diaphragms as they are resistant to ethanol -

My belief is that Holley makes an update kit for that Carb. that brings it to tolerating todays crappy gas. (ethanol LACED). Al W.
