There are 4:11's in my 'new' 64 so I fiqured while I have the car on the lift redoing the brakes I would swap out the rear for a 3:36 one I had in the garage.
Well it is not going to happen.
When I grabbed the side yokes to check for in and out play it was over a 1/4" and a lot of up and down play.
This is what I found.
The housing is junk and I would need two stub shafts.
So I guess the 4:11's stay.

The bearing is siezed to the shaft so the whole assembly was spinning in the housing.
It was from a 76 chassis that I purchased. There was a 65 Coupe parts car sitting on it.
It was put on the chassis over 35 years ago so I assumed it was a low mileage rear.
