NICE 60

Bought a 62 Vette last week, N.O.M 327,supposed to be out of a 1965 Vette.The engine code on the pad on the right side of the block is 1F0420"HB".Ilooked up all the engine codes for 60 -67 Vettes and there is no suffix HB.There is an HR though.I am sure it is an HB and not an HR..Does anyone have an idea what this motor came out of? The block casting on the left rear of the motor is 3782870.

Depending on the year it was assembled, it was a 275 or 300 HP out of either a full size Chev or Camaro.

The "870" block was used from 62-65. The "HB" suffix code used with an 870 block, was the 65 full size, 327/300, with a manual trans.
