Default Documentation

I recently acquired a 1967 BB roadster. It is an excellent condition driver. All the numbers match, but I have no documentation for the car. Does Chevrolet keep records if I was to furnish the VIN? Or, where could I go to get documentation to verify the car?
I live in the SF Bay Area. Any help greatly appreciated!

Matt, we've all been dealing with this problem. Chevrolet will not provide any information. The only thing you can check is for the build sheet known as the tank sticker on top of the gas tank. You should be able to see it if you pull back the bladder when you open the tank door.

It's not that Chevrolet will not provide the info, Chevrolet does not have the info. This has been researched for decades, and Chevy simply does not have any build records for any St. Louis built Corvette. They do have records for Bowling Green built cars. Chuck

If you purchased the car from a private owner, or dealer for that matter, get all the information you can from them. If possible, find out who they bought the car from and when. Then it's a matter of trying to contact past owners and hoping they have some information.

Thanks for the information! I will check the tank this weekend, although I was told by the gentleman I bought it from that there was no documentation or build sheet. I'll keep you posted!
