Heater/clock console removal
I finally got the nutplates removed and the blower switch out, but how do you remove the ***** from AIR & TEMP? Surely you don't have to remove the entire cable??

I don't know what year you have but look for a set screw of some type.
I just checked my 62 and the only set screw is on the FAN ****. Looking at the other 2 ***** it does appear (and I think I remember this from 1981) that you have to remove the cable assembly from the console.
This assumes you have a 58-62.
If you have a 63-67 I believe most of those ***** have set screws. My 65 is in storage and I'm unable to check.

It would be very helpful to other forum members, as well as you, if you include the year and model and any other applicable info when posing a thread. We can ASSUME you have a 59 going by the user name but you know how that works.

Finally got the console installed, looks good with my new clock. I tied a small diameter wire to the end of the AIR cable, pulled it thru, then pulled the cable back thru to ensure the routing was the same. Also, I don't know how else you could've found that small hole in the firewall otherwise. Kind of a pain, but doable. Thanks to 3rd Red 62 for his PM.
