C2 firewall connector
Has only one tried to replace the plastic housing only on the engine side firewall connector? Mine has a damaged loop at the top preventing it from latching securely. Do the wires and "bobby pin" connectors remove from the back of the housing? I was hoping to reuse my existing wires and just replace the housing without splicing any wires.

Make sure to keep the wire orientations correct.

Someone may have a picture to show you what the individual connectors look like. The archives may also have pics. Or try an Google "Packard Electric wire connectors"….or something similar. A few places still have them for sale, if needed.

You could also use soldered butt splice and heat shrink wrap to do a wire join.
In the case of the "Red" wire inspect the plastic housing for that pin and make sure it is not melted. Common problem. I was able to fix mine with some JB weld years ago.

I mounted the panel gently in a padded vise to hold it while I pushed up the wire, installed the tool and then pulled down to remove the connector.

Thanks for the tip. I went out and bought one yesterday to put in the tool drawer. You never know when it might be needed. You can never have too many tools…..although I am getting close
