Any opinions on value difference and ability to sell a powerglide car vs a 4 speed? I am looking at an automatic that I feel is priced right but just concerned about re-sale when the time comes. I have a 67 4 speed convertible so when I feel the need to shift I can.Any thoughts?
Power glide cars are usually optioned out Unlike 4 speed cars. So it's hard to compaire. I feel with the aging buyers of mid years a power glide will sale.

Funny that you brought that up- a few years ago I wouldn't have considered an automatic.
I feel that a pg car should be 2-3k less than a 4speed car and this one is
FWIW The 'new' Corvette value app called Corvette DNA assigns an additional value of $5,000 for a 4 speed over a PG.
I would guess one limiting factor for a PG is that it was only available with 300hp SB.
I've been looking for a PG for my wife for a couple months. There are not that many to choose from.
BTW if you pass on the one you're looking at, let me know 😉

Seems PG cars are more sought after lately. Perhaps some boomers are tired of rowing through the gears, and just want to get in and go.
We just put a new clutch/PP in the L72. I got in and pushed the clutch pedal.. Holey crap, this is much harder to push than the Jetta. Forgot how hard that pedal is to push. Might be considering a PG myself soon. The knees are getting old.
Already thinking about selling before you buy? Think about your concerns now, the next buyer will have the same concerns. It's not that it won't sell, or even the value difference, your buyer's market will be smaller for a p/g. They sell better now than they did a few years ago. I don't think they're as much fun to drive, but the next buyer might have a physical or marital reason to buy a p/g.
I believe PG cars tend to be less abused then 4 speed cars.
But there are always exceptions.
I have a 65 coupe Powerglide, power steering, power windows, power antenna and it is great to drive although I love my 4 speed cars also.
I also have a 57 Corvette 250 HP fuel injection Powerglide which is fun to drive but not a race car, it is currently for sale.
I don't know that you can quantify that to a $ value.
What it will do is eliminate a pool of potential buyers. When I was shopping I ignored any cars that were automatics. But that's just me.
I'm sure there exists a pool of buyers that won't consider a 4 speed either.
In the end, I wouldn't sweat it. If you want a PG car then go for it and quit worrying about what's going to happen if/when you sell it (unless you're into this as a business and plan to flip the car).
