The left wiper on my 62 quit. The right side still works and the cable is still driving the left side. I can easily pull the left wiper and stem out, (not sure of the correct nomenclature) the end of the stem appears to be knurled. I'm not sure how the stem is connected and can't find any pictures. I also don't see any of these parts available in any vendor catalog. Looks like a real SO- to work on too. Is there a diagram available of the wiper assembly, a description of how it assembles.
I appreciate any help anyone can give.

Great pictures and information, thank you. Looks like I have to pull the unit out in order to make repairs. Is it possible to get to that unit without pulling the instrument cluster?

I did it once, when i was 17, and wasn't sure i would ever get it back in, but finally did.
I would suggest taking the cluster out, it your best option.

Well i'm not 17 and don't remember if I ever was. Standing on my head all day with it stuck between the brake and clutch petal is not very appealing and with no guarantee of success. I guess the cluster need to come out. The problem with the cluster removal is I'll find a dozen things I should do while I'm in there and this could turn into a big project.
