58 Idle Setting
What is the appropriate idle speed\rev that a 58 shoulder be set at. Its a single carb 283 \ 230 HP. Is there a specific ideal idle rev or range that it should be set to?

Hey Bomba.....you may want to take a look at one of my post...go to page 4.
I have a 327 block with 283 heads and Lars, helped me with setting the timing. One of the things I learned is that you don't want to set the timing with it just idling. You'll want to take readings at different RPM's to figure out your power curve.
