help id shock

Default help id shock

could anyone tell me what these shocks fit and what the date code means:
5552660
9b65a
i think they are for the rpo option 687 from the post i have seen on here from previous listings...any help would be appreciated...

Where did you get them and what generation or model year Corvette do you think they are for? The answer to that will enable me to move this thread to the Corvette forum that can probably answer that question for you.

found them in a warehouse...i think they are 53-62 year range

Has any one had any luck on finding out the correct application on these shocks? Part # 5552660 date code 9b65a
any help or suggestions will be appreciated...

According to the 1961/62 Tech &Judging manual, "shock absorber information is as follows:HD front-5552659; HD rear-5552660. Delco Products shock absorber identification is stamped near the top of shock, and will contain a date of manufacture code consisting of month (numeral),week of month (letter A-E) and year. Example: 6 A 62 equates to June,1st week,1962." Hope this helps

what does the "a" after the date code mean? Mine is stamped
9b65a which you would break down as september 2nd week of 1965, correct? They appear to be hard to find..any idea as to the value? Thanks
