Progress on 57 conversion. So far so good!
Well I got the engine and trans in, got the power steering pump mounting figured out, and clutch linkage hooked up. :D
Everything fit perfect first time.............. Amazing
I got a cool serpentine belt setup out of the GMPP catalog.
It came with every nut, bolt, and washer needed for the conversion including new power steering pump, water pump, and alternator for $500. Beats the hell out of Street and Performance $783 for just a pump with no pulley and brackets. It is a nice kit with no missing parts, It also has an idler pulley wher the A/C compressor goes so it will be easy to add air later
SRIII said the headers I had would not fit. Ha after I beat them into submission with a hammer they almost fit ;) They would work, but I'm not happy with the quality of my work so I have headers that will fit coming tomorrow :)
Doing brake and fuel lines tomorrow. I think I'm gonna make it to Carlisle :D

Good luck in getting have that car running in time for Carlisle. What engine/transmission are you using?
I took my '62 conversion car on it's first long trip last week, about 400 miles to the beach and back without incident. Drove through a major thunderstorm on the way back home. I had forgotten how bad these cars leak in a downpour. Luckily I remembered to take along a few extra towels.
