Default firewall mauled

Hello forum members. I am currently trying to figure out the best approach to repair this firewall. Someone has removed the "lip" that the nose would glue(bonding strips) to on both sides and top. I was told it was done to facilitate a one piece nose to flip forward...
It is a 63 convertible, classic story " just get it running" now a body off
project since 2011. This corvette is going to be a daily driver when complete. I was thinking of dry fitting the one pc nose and drawing a template to fill the area but open to any other ideas.
Thanks

Default had the same problem

Somebody converted my car to a flip front clip and cut the firewall almost the same, but did much more damage. I was going to repair mine and started getting parts, I found a firewall and replaced it just because it was more time to repair than to replace. Yours looks like they did not get too creative, so it does look repairable with a little work.

I'm not sure the two bonding strips pictured are still available ,but they cut through these on yours it appears. As far as the plenum panels you can get those at any of the Fiberglass shops.

The remaining area you should be able to build out without any problem for bonding your clip as you suggested.

Hope that helps and good luck!

Get the Pcs shown above and for the top bonding, And the sides just replace the panel, break the bond at the fire wall drill out the rivets on body mount put in the new one. it can be seen when you open the hood so you don't want to just mud it up. Easy fix.
