Apparently I am the cause of 62Jeff declaring that he is leaving the Forum. This seems to be due to my questioning a statement he made in another somewhat controversial thread.

While I do not understand his reaction nor how one disagreement would cause him to so act (I think I must have been just the proverbial "straw that broke the camel's back"...), I regret his action and want him to reconsider, as he is a valuable technical contributor to this Forum - more so than I.

So, Jeff, if you're out there and paying attention - I apologize. Please reconsider!

Thanks for posting. You know, in a technical forum such as this, you get a lot of personalities who all have, to a degree, some more, some less of mechanical knowledge. And we all think ours is the best or only way. I KNOW I am guilty of that. That was big of you. Jeff, hope you come back. I have enjoyed your posts also.

That is a solid apology. Jeff- I missed the thread that is referenced causing this over the last few days, but if you are reading this, please consider coming back! You, sir, have always been considerate, helpful, and encouraging to so many of us. As a "younger" owner I can tell you I have been helped many times in my passion for the car by your advice. -Benton

Are you kidding me.... "62 Jeff , leaving the forum????"

Jeff...I don't have a clue what this is about...but you are forum "family".

You are sharp, knowledgeable....and one of the guys we can always count on to help out with reliable information.

This is home man...screw whatever happened and blow it off. You've got tons of friends here... Your years of contributions make you greatly respected....and appreciated here!

Whether you did or did not make some mistake is not important...! If you made a mistake ...so what , we all do! If you were disrespected...then an apology has been made.

Either way...like I said you are family! That won't change...ever!!!

Don't even consider NOT being here "for us", we need you ..!

Best regards...Stan

Please stay Jeff. We all need your expert advise. Everyone says things they regret. But we must move on, forgive and forget and let those things be.

Jeff and I are friends and I agree that his contributions to this Forum over the years have been very helpful to many and will be a big loss for this Forum if he does not return. Fortunately for me Jeff is local and he never hesitates to help me in person just the same way that he helps people on this Forum by sharing his expertise and pictures on just about any topic that comes up.

I hope that Jeff, Frankie, and Hitch will return and I want to thank DZ Auto (Tom Parsons) for returning with all of his expertise. John Z you are also appreciated along with many others ( you know who you are ) who contribute to this Forum.

It appears that a lot of feelings have been hurt over the past few weeks. It takes a real man to admit that he made a mistake, and Glenn has made a sincere and mature apology. When friends and family are together for a long time, "stuff" happens; it's human nature. We don't leave our wives and kids when we get upset. Most people take some time to get over the petty BS, put things in perspective, and then move on like it never happened. We get caught up in the moment and don't even remember why we became upset in the first place. It's not easy to admit when we've made a mistake... especially for guys. It's been said time and again that we are a Corvette family, so like a real family, let's forget about what's in the rearview mirror and look forward through a clean windshield. We can only hope that Jeff, Frankie, and Hitch reconsider how they feel and continue their meaningful contributions to the Forum.

, Roger

midyearvette, who has been wrenching for 54 years also quit. He has helped a lot of us locally and even more on this forum. He really knows these cars and is willing to help anyone, but when he started getting nasty pm's back in November about his knowledge of engines he left. I really have enjoyed Jeff, Hitch and Frankie on this forum and hope they as well as midyearvette return.

I expect that Jeff is not on the Forum any longer and has not read this thread. I will at least let him know that he has a lot of support here and maybe he will reconsider.

I agree, they are all good, knowledgable people that always try to answer a problem. I have missed not having them around myself, with their great advice.

Default Frank's status

FYI - Frank is back, and you may have seen his posts. I traded PM's with him, and he said it was mostly due to his consulting business ramping up and feeling that he was spending too much time here on the Forum.

He also reassured me that I was not the cause of his temporary absence.

YIKES!! I go on a 4-week road trip and the whole place falls apart. Really? Are 1/2 the people I rely on to keep me and my Corvette going actually leaving? This can't be true.

I hope that you guys will reconsider. I, and many others here, rely on your knowledge, advice, and humor.

I have no idea what happened to cause this exodus but we're all Corvette guys with lots of extra testosterone. Sometimes that testosterone leaks into our messages and causes bad feelings. All of us need to be more careful with what we say to others and more patient with what others say to us. I'm as guilty as anyone for not always doing that. We have a great group of guys here and those of you who are thinking about leaving have contributed immensely here. If it wasn't for you guys, I probably wouldn't have a Corvette . . . and I certainly wouldn't have one that actually runs <LOL>.

So, please rethink your decision and, hopefully, you'll heed my selfish plea to stay with us and continue sharing your knowledge, humor, and balance with those of us who really need it.

Take care,
-- Steve

Well, you must feel horrible because you were gone and no one noticed,,,,,,
Yes, the whole freakin world has gone to hell in a handbasket over the last 4 weeks. Rioting over the police killing people, terrorists running amok in the middle east, the stock market gyrating up and down, guys kissing the CF goodbye, and the president on vacation through it all.
Kinda makes you wonder doesn't it?

ps. can you spare some of your extra testostorone? I'm a little low
