First let me say I have read and reread several sources and still I am confused. I do need your help from going crazy over this.
Installed new diamonback radials on the 61. Removed four BFG Silvertowns, 6.70/15 4 ply, tubeless, wide whitewalls.
(2) DOT CYNK C275512, CYNK C275173, and CYNK C275522. Are these three or four digit manufacture dates? The tires look and feel nearly new. The numbers have been triple checked. Any help to this number challenged forum member is truly appreciated. Thanks

Based on this it appears the tires are from 1972-73 or 1982-83 time frame. If the 1990's they should have a triangle. From the Year 2000 on, they would have a two digit year code.

Those tires were made during the 51st week of 1982.
Steve, Rhino is correct, look a bit further along the sidewall and you should find another set of embossed numbers molded into the tire with four digits only, or ending in four digits. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=11
Of course I could be wrong, but I believe the number you've selected is the tire I.D. Number.

I am probably incorrect on this one.
I thought that the OP was talking about new tires he put on his car.
Tires molded starting in 2000 had the four digit code, before that the three-digit code, but that may not go back as far as these tires appear to be possibly very old.
If your tires do not have a four digit code, in other words, built in this century, I would not recommend their use. New tires are cheap - fiberglass damage is not, and life is priceless.
Tires made between 1971 and 1999 had an 11-digit DOT number, and the last three digits were the date; 9 and 10 were the week, and 11 was the year. Beginning with 2000, it became a 12-digit number, and the last TWO digits were the year.
Those tires were made during the 51st week of 1982.
John:
I agree (gut feel) that 1982 (and 1983 for one of the tires) is probably the correct year. But I believe that it could also be 1972 (and 1973). Do you agree, or is there something that definitely tells you it is the 1980's time period??
This has been very informative and thanks to all who have responded. I should have made it clearer the DOT numbers are from the takeoffs. As folks have said, the new radial tires are making driving much, much better. You folks are the best.

Those Coker BFG reproduction bias-ply tires didn't exist in 1972.
