any advice or experiences on brands or sources of long tube headers? i've heard the shorties don't perform well. looking for 1 3/4 inch that would fit on a 4 spd small block. Thanks mucho!
ARH in Long Island, NY is looking for a C2 mule to design headers for a midyear. ARH makes some of the best headers, if not the best. They have have worked out the design for C3's and have plans for a C2. Talk to Steve. Their headers are S/S and are considered top of the line by the C5 and C6 guys. Not cheap but will last forever. Do a search on the C3 forum.
Check out the posting talking about Stahl Headers (4 or 5 postings after yours).
Jere Stahl invented the 4 tube header and his designs are without a doubt the best in the industry.
Not cheap, but the BEST.

I have Doug's Headers on my 65. I am running a 400 SBC. Fit good, sound good, look good. I had them Jet Coated. If I could do it over I would ceramic coat them.
Arent the C2 and C3 so similar as to be the same?? Whats different? Floorpans?
I asked the same question. I was told the C2 vs C3 is close but until they get a C2 they will not offer their headers to the C2 market. There is some good stuff on the C3 forum. Any C2 owner in the NY area needing a set of quality headers should talk to them.
Headman ceramic headers fit my 64 fine . I assume 65 wouldn't be any different. 3.5 inch to 2.5 inch adaptor pipe required. Or 2 inch . you will also require an alternator bracket . I didn’t notice a lot of difference from the cast Iron ones only more noise.
Most headers that you find are 1 5/8 . Hooker super competition headers are 1 3/4. If you are building a mild engine then a set of 1 5/8 would work ok , they are easier to find and cheaper.
