Default Sidepipe Shield

Can anyone tell me if Rockwell Intn'l. is the original manufacturer of the sidepipe shields on midyears? I found this on the inside when I took it off to clean it.

Yea, they did. The front section (around the headlight buckets) was replaced by a bodyshop in 1970. The same Rockwell sticker is on that piece.

And the glass is green colored.

North American Rockwell was from the September 1967 merger of North American Aviation of LA with Rockwell Standard of Pittsburgh, which diversified into general manufacturing during the defense aviation industry die backs of the post WWII era, lasting until 1973 until becoming Rockwell International.

I just took a look at my shields, the PO added sidepipes in1969.

IIRC he said he bought everything at a Chevy dealership.

The inside glass is black & no sticker.

Rockwell International was a supplier to GM during the 1970's time period…perhaps going into the 1980's or longer. Not certain they supplied much in the 1960's……………so I would say that the shields are from later service replacements.
