This picture was taken last summer while I was taking my grandsons for a ride around the Lynnhaven River. The Lynnhaven bridge is in the background. The Chesapeake Bay is on the other side of the bridge and the Atlantic Ocean is 5 miles to the right of the bridge. Frankie should recognize this.
I do indeed...
I mis-spent some of my youth on the Elizabeth River not far away in Virginia Beach... Caught and sold a lot of blue crab to neighbors to pay for gas to go on dates. That boat is ideal for the area
Mine's a '79 25' Fisherman with a Crusader 350. Engine had 3200+ hours on it when I rebuilt it several years ago. Still going strong, but a bit thirsty. Great boat for where I use it on the East End of Long Island.
My dad had this same problem last year. 55 chevy with 327 and a generator on it. Drove car home from the burger stand. Parked car in front of the polebarn (with my mom still in the car), engine running; just long enough to open the overhead door.
All of a sudden a 12 gauge shotgun goes off under the hood.
Split the battery, HCL everywhere. A box of baking soda and bucket of water later and only a little light paint damage (which he touched up). The regulator had failed. My poor mom was pretty rattled, and the neighbor lady got scared out of bed.
We replaced the engine harness (it was from the 70s anyway) and the regulator and had the generator tested.
