62 Paint Code
A friend of mine is looking for the paint code for Honduras Maroon to repaint his 62. I thought I would have it but can't find it in any of my reference books. I can find it for 63 and up but nothing older than that. Is it possible that they just went by name and not a number for C1's? Do any of you happen to know what it is or can you direct me to a source? Thanks.

My copy of the Illustrated CORVETTE Buyer's Guide by M. Antonick sez "None" under the Color Code column thru 1962, but I got an exact match for 1956 Cascade Green from the local Auto Body & Paint Supply House. I'm sure you could do the same for Honduras Maroon if you go to the right place.

Thanks for the response. What you've outlined is what I've told him so far. I was hoping that there was more to go on but I'm sure he can get it from any good auto paint supply house.

I have gotten both Lacquer and Enamel (in pint cans) for my 62 for touch up purposes.
The Lacquer is marked: PPG Duracryl #DDL50568 SC Code 948 Honduras Maroon
The Enamel is marked: PPG Delstar #50568 SC Garnet Mist Met. (Honduras Maroon).
Both paints are exact matches for the paint on my Vette. Note that the Code 948 (on the Lacquer can) agrees with Denney's info.
