Default Used Frame Section Source?

Got a call today from a friend who's in the process of doing a body off frame restoration on a 1966 427. After receiving the frame back from grit blasting they discovered a couple of sections were in bad shape with through rust; however, other than these two areas the remainder of the frame is solid inclusive of the bird cage.

He has not ruled out replacing the entire frame; but would prefer to replace sections as needed from actual frames as opposed to fabricating.

I know America's Finest Corvette sells complete new C2 bare frames and the only other possibility for used sections may be Tracey's Corvette ???

Would you guys know of anyone else who sells used sections only?

Thank you !!!!
Ralph

America finest only sells rebuilt frames, they are not new. Virginia vettes sells new ones and also sells sections that are a perfect fit, it depends where your problem is.

VPoM is the ONLY manufacturer/supplier of C1-C2-C3 complete GM-licensed reproduction frames and a multitude of frame repair sections and assemblies; they make all the frame parts sold by the other vendors.

Thank you all very much ---------- that's perfect !!

Interestingly the owner of this 66 subject roadster received the car as a gift from his Mother In Law who was the original owner, and she still had the window sticker and invoice. It had 48K miles on it and has sat in the garage for many years. I know it's a BB, but don't know if it's a L36 or L72 as of yet ---- I hope to find this out tomorrow when I forward this great information.

Why can't I get a Mother In Law like that !!!

Default New frame = VEtte Products of Michigan

I just got a call from VPoM that my new frame was ready to be shipped. Based on feedback on this forum I think I made the best choice. Give them a call.

When I spoke to them at Carlisle they were very helpful. Lots of good info.
