Evening everyone, Well I think that I have found the vette that I've been looking for finally. Turns out that it hasn't been advertise but in a small trader. My only question is one that may have already been answer so please humor me.
First, It's already had a frame off, NOM, no hardtop and here's the real kicker all four quarters have been replaced. I just need to know what a very good frame off selling price is right now? I guess as always is it worth it to me?
The lines are all very good and everything seems to be in good to perfect working order on this 65 vert....
Dave....
Don't think so though from seeing it first hand today and the guy was very forth coming with info. He had all kinds of pics from the frame off just none from prior. Actually didn't ask to see photos of the vette prior to the frame off. He told me though that the reason he replaced the quarters was because of the fender flares... Does this sound legit???

Actually, yes it is possible. Although one can buy the patch panels for the quarters, it would be obvious if they were used. So, I would say that if he was looking to restify the car to original, the best thing to do would be to replace the fenders from the bonding strip down.
Thanks for the info guys. I think that he went the more expensive route of completing this and by this I mean he only replaced the quarters instead of replacing the whole front or rear clip. I just had never really heard of someone going thru this much trouble. Especially since now you can have a complete clip delivered to your door and not have to deal with all of the blocking and sanding to have the lines correct. The vette looks the part I'm just unsure. I guess one more look maybe the deciding factor.
From what I know and looking at this vette I think it's a good price 31K just don't know if it's the right price for me on this vette. I would like to negotiate the price with him I just don't want to start to low and insult him or to high and pay to much.... If these were the only problems I had to deal with I would have much lower blood pressure....
Dave....
IF it is a true frame off, that would be a fair price. All cosmetics (chrome, interior, paint, etc..) would have to be perfect, as well as underneath. To me, "frame off" means - every piece of the car replaced, cleaned, or painted to
new condition, including nuts, bolts and washers. Good attention to detail, if he replaced fenders and qtrs just because of flares.
It seems to appear that almost no cost was spared on this vette. The guy is seems to be in a bind and is also sell another vette. The only parts not replaced were the brake calipers ie with S/S inserts, the mono leaf, the vert itself and both door panels. All gauges except the fuel replaced new clock. It sits high in the front but I suspect bigblock springs.... All wheel bearings replaced all bushings replaced. The only other thing that I didn't mention earlier is that the drivers door latch sticks and that the grill is missing the center tab on both the grill and front clip. The grill is firmly bolted in otherwise though.
