Most Aggravating Problem II

So, I guess the 62 will stay where it is safe & clean (as well as most of the other vehicles!). But my wife does have to go somewhere tomorrow (in her WHITE Jimmy). So I guess tomorrow I will finish caulking the gutters (AGH!), and then de-tar the Jimmy when she returns. At least the daughter's Buick is BLACK.
Thanks for letting me RANT!

Did you put the dummy next door in the dumpster....
By the way what color is the Vette.... do you need it undercoated..... :jester
more stupid than anything else, however: when its Sunday morning and you get up at 6am to secure the LIE (Long Island Expressway) with no traffic and you decide it is the appropriate time to clean the contacts on your battery/quick disconnect **** (the green job) and you twist off the disconnect so quickly that it falls into the engine compartment and fortunately the battery side of the car is close to your garage wall so you don't have good access to it............so after 2 hours of climbing under, over and around your baby you wait for you wife to get up so you can push the Vette out of the garage in neutral only to find that you STILL cannot find the ****..........so in disgust you push the car back into the garage and await the $7 disconnect shipped for $20 overnight from LI Corvette Supply ...Taking the disconnect off would have been too easy :)
Plasticman, as far as the tar removal- last summer I got "tarred" and Home Depot had some special tar removal solvent they used on construction equipment (safe for paint) which worked wonders...if you need it..
Hope this helped..

Would love to have made him a "dumpster diver", but the dumpster had one end open, so I figured he could have found his way out!
Vette is Maroon (come to think of it, my other Vette - 87 is "Maroon" and my 51 Chevy truck is "Maroon" - I'm in a rut!, no my wife's Jimmy is White & my Typhoon is White, so I'm in 2 ruts & confused as well!), and no undercoat is required or desired!
Dumpster was moved this morning, but the asphalt crew is no where to be seen! 62 still needs a test drive! Maybe Friday?
a63vette,
Trying to find something that does not want to be found means you really should stay off the road (or just go back to bed) - it's going to be one of those days!
Did some handy work again today (still working on the gutter project), and put a tool back where it was "suppose" to be. Took me 2 hours to find it again!

As of Friday evening: Dumpster gone, but only tar on court (no new pavement), and all vehicles still in garage. Looks like Monday before pavement will arrive (and test drive of 62). Boy did they lay down the tar! No car shows this weekend anyway!
Thanks,
Plasticman

So, I takes the 62 for it's long awaited test drive to check out the braking with "correct" toe-in. Steering feels better (odd about that), brakes are still squirrly (but "better"). But now the Throw-Out Bearing decides to take a dump (terrible noises when clutch pedal is placed in the "disengaged clutch position" in any gear, including neutral). So we spend the rest of the day talking my buddy (who happens to have a spare rebuilt trans that I have been wanting to try out due to a shift problem we are also having) into bringing over the trans and helping us replace said defective parts. We will finish up tomorrow and I know it will be a better day!
These problems don't seem ever to get fixed. They just seem to "morph" into more problems!

But, now we find out why the T/O Bearing went "south". Seems that it has been turning All The Time! All of the clutch linkage is so worn that even the spring post is worn 1/2 way through! So we order new clutch linkage tomorrow.
On & on it goes!
