I know we've been over this numerous times. A shop that does some work on my car asked me to take some pictures today. Here's what I found.







The one interesting thing is that the cylinder head alignment pins seem to be original. Most stampings have new pins. These could easily go back to the fifties.

What do you guys think?

I don't see any broach marks around the stamping.

I'd hazard a guess that is one of the counterfeit CZ blocks advertised (and sold?) back in the late '70s and early '80s before broach marks were an issue.

Their existence back then is what prompted Dr. Ed Gurdjian to have this T-shirt made:
