I was at a cruise a while back and I was admiring a 56 corvette, the owner walked up and we were comparing note's about our cars.... Then he says, Here is something I bet you have never seen, and he show's me his Ignition key...
Well, the part that you hold was a 56 vette emblem, kinda enameled....
Just like the emblem that is on the glove box door.... know what I mean ?
Me, being the eternal collector that I am, am now searching for one....
I dont care what the key 'cut" is, as I will have it re-keyed anyway...
Anyone have one, or ever even see one before ?
Or was it just a glove box emblem welded to a key shank ?
Enquiring minds need to know.... :D
Since you are a collector have you seen the Silver "One Troy Ounce" 1956 collector plaque. Accross the top it says "1956 Corvette" -- in the center it has a raised 56 Corvette -- accross the bottom it has the word "Convertible". Across the top on the back side it says "One Troy Ounce" -- in the center off to one side it has "GM" seal -- accross the bottom it has ".999 Fine Silver".
I pick these up several years ago and they have just been sitting in my desk draw. I have most C1 and C2 years. Might be something to add to you collection.
