The engine was locked up and is on a stand right now. The heads and manifolds WERE on when I unbolted them and found this. Somehow, mice got down into one of the cylinders and made a mess. Pair of valves even rusted off their stems
My 1967 has the original motor, trans, and rear. Small block 327/350 HP convertible with factory air. VIN 194677S114845 built in late March. Currently has around 27,000 miles. One of Noland's Survey cars.
It is probably one of only a few hundred known SMALL BLOCK cars for 1967. Everyone knows that in 1967, Chevrolet mostly put the tri-power big block 427/400 and 427/435 in it's Corvettes.

Don, I can get to it but won't be driving it any time soon. 5 more inches yesterday and more coming in today It will be April before the snow melts. The ice on the lake is about 3 feet thick.
My '66 coupe still has it's original engine and trans with 48,000 miles on it.
I think it is great that some of you have low mileage cars, having said that , I think of the thousands of people who never got to see your car on the road being driven. 10 or 15 years from now we will all be old men or dead, who will drive them or want them(no counting investment rare cars)
So, stop polishing and start driving , that is if you can still get in and out of the car!

Nope. Original 327 in my '66 was replaced with a 1969 350 cu in before I purchased in 1997. I dropped in a 1978 454 cu in and have driven 35k miles so far.
