67 steering wheel
We all know the 67 shares several parts with the 68, one of those is the steering wheel.
My question: are steering wheels from previous C2 years compatible with the 67 hub?

Not unless you get a spacer for the notch in the hub.

Ok.
Can I eventually use a 63 hub and steering wheel on a 67?

The 67 steering wheel has the "dropped" lower spoke on it. You don't need anything to bolt an earlier (63-66) Corvette steering wheel onto your 67 column. A problem exists when you bolt the 67 steering wheel onto a 63-66 hub. In that case you can have the hub machined to accommodate the dropped lower spoke or, as the Nowhere Man said, you can use a spacer.

Lets consider that the steering wheel is not the problem, what hub can be used on a 67 to make all the mechanisms work properly?

Can you be a little more specific about what your intention is?
Do you have a 67 that needs a proper column? If so,
Here is one... and $950 isn't bad for a complete rebuilt column
The 67 Column was a new design... its collapsible. And as Nowhereman is saying, it has a different wheel, hub, cancel cam, signal switch... etc etc.
Its kind of hard to do it on the cheap, lord knows I have tried. I say this as I just replaced my '67s turn signal switch for the second time.
You should check out
this thread that I posted a few days ago while dealing with steering wheel, horn button, and hub issues.
The hub cost about $150 repro from the vendors.. but again, you'll need the other stuff too

while the wheels are the same, 68 corvettes used a unique 1 year corvette only hub. the 67 corvette wheel and hub were more common, and were shared with 67-68 chevelles, camaros and full size cars.

You sure about that Dennis. I know for 69 the hub got bigger due to the switch being located in the column.

Yes you can bolt a 63-67 wheel on a 67 hub. You will have a small open space under the center spoke. Only visible from a side view of the hub/wheel. Functionally fine.

If you are asking if a 63-66 hub will fit on a 67 the answer is no the shaft is larger in 67.

Slightly off topic but 67 and 68 steering wheels are not the same. They look somewhat similar and are interchangeable but they are different.
The 67 wheel is a different part number than the 68 wheel too.
I wonder if anyone knows what the difference is?

One has texture and one does not. But I get them confused

Yup, correct. The 67 is grained. The 68 is smooth.
Most of the grain wears off of 67 wheels after years of use but it's usually still visible near the spokes.

This is my situation so far.
I have a corvette 66 steering wheel and would like to know what I need to install it in my car. Let me know if you need any other pic with details.
PS the canceling cam works properly with this configuration

No you have a aftermarket wheel and hub. You need to buy either a repro hub and wheel or find a original set up

67 steering wheel
That's why I already have a 66 steering wheel to use in place of this aftermarket.
Is the 67-68 hub specific just for the corvette or was it used in other cars?
