Rookie mistake, I am a dumbass
So I smoothed out the lower windshield channel thinking it would have a better chance of staying water tight. Well, I finished in all my clip screw holes. I am a dumbass, So my question: is there equal spacing between the holes so if I found one I could measure to the next until I uncover all 11? Or do I just need to sand it all off?

Holes
You can probably poke around and find them, or just go ahead and screw the clips down evenly and drill new holes. Not a big deal. Perfect time to make sure clips catch all the molding tight.

For my 66, there's a sheet in the AIM...UPC 1 ASM F22/23 that shows how many and the layout but no measurements...just size of screws...
It looks like if you find the center one, they 'might' be evenly spaced...
11 total including the 2 bottom corners....
Coupe and Convertible are different...
good luck...

ry57pont,
Here's some pics of my cleaned up frame, POR 15 sealed with new clips mounted in their original holes. Don't know measurements but you should be able to reference the bolts on the inside of the window frame to where the holes for these clips go.
My '65 had 12 factory spaced clips. Paragon sells you a kit with 11. Ended up using 1 of my old ones.
Hope this helps.

Clips
Welcome to the dumb *** club! I would like to run for president. All kidding aside, the spacing is not all that important, with the exception of the corner clips. They hold the corner pieces of molding in place and I know I had a tough time getting the molding to sit correctly. As mentioned above, use only original clips or clips from Paragon. Some of the vendors sell clips made overseas and are not worth a crap. Jerry

Well, I never made that mistake (yet) but I sure could give you a long list of ones I HAVE made. Don't let it throw you, it happens to everybody and it was just your turn.
How do you keep from making mistakes? Experience.

We ALL make mistakes! God knows I've made my share and will likely make more in the future. IMO a TRUE "dumb ***" is someone who makes the same mistakes over and over. Now, if you were to do this again, THEN you're a real card carrying dumb ***.
