Yeah, I'm going to have the two red lights and one clear back up light on the inside on both sides. And yes my body man can do this conversion.
AND NO, NO LATE MODEL THIRD BRAKE LIGHT. THAT WOULD BE ..... !!!!!
If course you can do it any way you like, but I suggest leaving the reverse light in the same hole it is and adding the taillight on the inside. That way you wouldn't have to rewire the reverse light (it uses a single wire socket) and it would spread out the brake and tail lights (which use a double wire socket) wider for easier visibility. In other words, reverse light would be in the center on both sides.

I still have the mold somewhere out in the storage building, so if you need it, PM me and I can send it to you.
I kind of gilded the Lilly, and added a sequential module to the tail lights as well. My car did not have the backup light option, but I would have deleted it and went to 3 red lights like it is.
Except in this case, I believe the Original Poster has a 66 and at least originally should have had backup lights. Of course that means only one red tail/stoplight per side on a 66 which isn't much to get the attention of the driver behind you.

Sky65,
I like the center clear lens.
Is the center clear lens a stop light along with tje end lights or is it actually a backup light?
If it's a tail light or stop light do the police bother you?
Thanks,

It's a backup. Factory fit. Around here if you have a white light illuminated on the back of a car you had better be backing up. Going forward is definitely a violation.

Tom,
I figured it was still a backup light.
Clear tail lights are a no-no here also.
There are DOT rules about that stuff.
I sort of wish they would they would ban some of those damn blue-white headlights.

Maybe you could try drawing some extra lights on paper, filling one pair in red and leaving another white, scotch-taping one pair on. backing away a little and deciding how you like the look. Then do the same with the other pair. Then decide whether you like red, white, or neither. Just a suggestion.
Depending your level of concern for how much you can get when you sell it, it's up to YOU to decide what is or isn't too busy. You have to decide whether you are building it to make the next owner happy or to make yourself happy.

Mine came with the two tail / brake lights and 1 reverse light.
Dr. Rigg? I love your car. I hope that you're not repainting it. I opened a thread about Patina'd Corvettes. You should post pictures of it on that thread. I'd love to see them.
