I wasn't sure about lock either but I just assumed those did. All I want is a replacement switch that has an ACC lug and will accept the existing plug as my '60 switch has. I saw something on the forum that gave a NAPA part number that did what I wanted but I can't find it.
I don't know about 63 or 67, but 64,5,6 didn't have a lock position. Left for acc, middle for off, and right for run (and start).
'63s do have a LOCK and an OFF position.
On a '63 you can remove the key from the ignition switch once it's in the RUN condition and then rotate the switch between OFF, RUN, and START with no key at all.
To rotate back to the LOCK position, though, the key is required.
Note/Caution: When the ignition switch becomes sufficiently worn, it's possible to rotate the switch to the ACC position and remove the key. What's the big deal? In the ACC position, the gauges are powered up and will, given enough time (a few days), discharge the battery.
So you have to be careful with '63s "of a certain age" to be sure that you rotate the key no further than the LOCK position before removing the key.
