So it looks like the bracket at the front of the diff in my 64 coupe was broken at some stage and has been welded up.... I have the rear apart and when I stripped the bracket I found this nice work
So it looks like the bracket is actually 64 specific as it was strengthened in later years, but am I able to use one from any midyear if I am not worried about judging ? I don't really want to put this one back and I will use the stronger one if it fits !

See the attached TSB on reinforcing the '63-'65 bracket by welding flat washers on it, drilling holes in the forward bolt heads and the bracket flange, and safety-wiring the forward bolts. Later cars used a through-bolt at the forward attachment and both sets of bolt holes were reinforced with a welded-on doubler plate, but the through-bolt made it very ugly to work on.
