my speed registers 20% faster then actual when driving at any speed. I understand there is 5 different gears one can buy.They are color coded blue red green yellow and natural. I have 327 engine and believe 411 rear,I think, not positive) not sure which gear is in the car. Any ideas which color gear would correct the situation.

If you look on page 119 of Corvette Central's C1 catalog it says that you need a speedo drive gear with 24 teeth that is yellow.
Before you order the plastic drive gear ascertain the the driven gear located in the tailshaft will match the plastic gear you are ordering. There were 2 sizes of driven gears. If the gears are incompatible you will either have to remove the transmission and install the correct driven gear or you could purchase a speedometer ratio adapter.

You can't select the proper DRIVEN gear unless you know what rear axle ratio you have.
