Default Lower Ign. shield bracket.

I am getting ready to put the (2) lower ignition shield brackets on my car and would like to know what size is the bolt and thread that attaches them to the engine block? Engine 327/365 (64). Thanks in advance
Leo

84 looks and not a single reply. I have wore the internet out and Google to no avail. Come on Corvette gurus. Need to know the bolts specs please. Someone has to know out there.

Not certain what "lower ignition shield brackets" means -- if your concern is the "V" shape or "boomerang" radio shielding along the sides of the block, then the forward threadform is 3/8-16 UNC (uses existing motor mount bolt) and the rear is 1/4-20 UNC (uses existing fastener holding the rear spark plug heat shield.)

This is the bracket. It attaches to the rear of the engine , near the bellhousing. It supports the spark plug wires on the rear side of the engine.

Use 1/4-20 hex head machine screws; 0.5" grip length should do it.

And, here I was looking at your thread for some answers on installing the V shielding! OK, to answer your question, (at least on the driver side) it is a 1/4 x 20 bolt 1/2" in length and with a star washer. On the driver's side arm of the shield appears to line up with the threaded hole just beneath the dipstick. The reinforced end mounts on the rear most bolt of the motor mount.

I am clueless on the passenger side and have no idea how the shielding is situated in relation to the starting and starter bracket.

By the way, aftermarket motor mounts will not rpt not accommodate the installation of the stock configured V shields. (I just swapped my HD aftermarkets for "correct" configure mounts. Let me know if this helps and if you have any luck figuring out the mounting of the passenger side V shield
