My references show it as '59-'62 passenger and truck 283 2-barrel (no Corvette usage).

Not a C1 or C2 piece, because it doesn't have a tach drive.

Tach drive distributors did not arrive until the advent of the 327, model year 1962. From '53 through '61, the tach was driven by the generator. That's just a side note, though, as John has already identified the item as never having been used on any Corvette.

Except hi-horse FI cars, they are driven but the distributor.

Just the high-HP (solid lifter) FI cars, or all the fuelies? Either way, I didn't know that. Thanks!

I would venture to say that the housing is the same as the Corvette. It is just the band and the weights that would be different (not sure about the weights) than the one used in the vette. Change these out and I believe no one could tell that it was not originally a vette distributor.
