Bolt Fell Out Of Door!
So I open the passenger door on my '65 convertible yesterday and a bolt falls to the ground. After a little inspection I figure out it came from a hole in the bottom portion of the door. I assume this holds the bottom of the window track in place? I tried to put it back in, but it doesn't catch anything. Do I need to take the panel off to get this back in place? I'm afraid to move the window until it's back in!

Roll your window partially 'down', take an awl or small phillips screw driver and put through the hole to line it up, 'leave the 'awl/driver in place...
Then take a thin piece of wood 'yard stick' if you have one and push backwards to hold in place...remove 'awl/driver' and put screw/bolt in....
PS...you might have to loosen the upper bolt/screw to move the lower part...for your bolt/screw

Window is already down. Was down when it fell out. Does it matter?
Where do I push with the yard stick? Backwards on what?

Probably not, but you can get a better visual with your head closer to your work, and use a flashlight...

Bolt
If I remember correctly, that bolt should be a 1/4-20. If you have to take the door panel off, it should not be a big deal. It would be a good time to grease the rod connections and the moving parts of the lock. If the nut is stripped, you could always double nut it from the inside. If you get it attached without taking the door panel off, put some Locktite blue on the threads and you should be good to go. Good luck. Jerry
