C2 dome light socket

C2 dome light socket
Ordered a new dome socket from LICS as one of the clips that hold it in the housing was broken off. So the new socket arrived and had no pigtails on it. when I push the socket contacts back the brass barrels do not extend past the plastic housing. I thought the new socket would come with leads so it would be just splicing in the new sockets assembly to the old wiring with a couple crimps. The bracket that locks into the housing is pinched so that's not coming off. What's the trick here?
