Default Road Trip

Heading out tomorrow on a little 500 mile drive to Bowling Green in my 66. Then back to Birmingham on Friday for a show on Saturday.

Some people think I'm nuts for driving that far but it's much more fun to drive it. Matching numbers, low miles (52k), mostly original, etc, but so what?

Those who think your nuts are just car owners, not Corvette enthusiasts. Drive the miles and get the smiles! Two weeks ago I drove 217 in one day for a Cruise for Veterans. Your car is a double for my former car I sold in '79. Dennis

Made it to Bowling Green, 500 miles in just over 8 hours. Made 3 stops, food, gas and gas.

327/300 gets 18mpg on the highway at 75mph, not too bad.

Great looking car. You get a big for driving it! Long trips are more fun than the short ones. Enjoy!

My wife and I did east Tennessee to Reno, Bonneville and back, Not a Corvette but in my 39 Chevy I built. 6218 miles in 18 days. You will have a blast and a lot of thumbs up along the way. All you need is a credit car and cell phone.

It's a Chevy, simple and reliable, why not? Better to exercise and keep them in shape then keep 'em indoors and letting them deteriorate. Gotta keep the blood flowing through all those electrical contacts and liquid seals!

If this is your first Power Tour, you will have a blast. Do you have a co-pilot or other cars to tag along with?
Have fun and take pictures!

Yep, my first Tour and I'm ready to ride. The wife will be along as co-pilot and we'll be traveling with six other cars in our little group.
