which 6 speed? If you are keeping the Gen-1 engine in the car; you'll probably find that with a .5 OD in 6th; you'll probably have issues with the carb(s) and also, you may well find you need to be doing 90mph to get it into 6th.
Common Tremec/BorgWarner T56s are either a 3.36 1st, a 2.97 1st or a 2.66 1st.
Avoid the 3.36 at all costs. It was a 1yr wonder and the 1st gear is almost unobtanium. Realistically you'd be better off with a Legend 5spd which is a T56 minus the 6th gear, in a case that is designed for the tunnels of vintage cars.
With respect to the clutch; Id look at an LT1 powered Camaro/Firebird and steal parts from their externally mounted slave setup. You should also steal the master and the pedal.
Or, call American Powertrain
Unless you have an aftermarket frame/chassis the 6spd will require major moifications to the tunnel, trans mount etc. Can be done but lots of work. Hydraulic clutch will be the least of your concerns.
The hydraulic clutch will also require reinforcing the weak fiberglass firewall in order for the clutch master cylinder to absorb and distribute the pedal load.
