Default Big Block Coil Bracket Question

1) My 427 has the angled coil bracket bolted to the intake that I bought through Volunteer Corvette PN SY20.

2) The coil I have is a NAPA/Echlin IC12

Problem I have run into is that the Echlin IC12 coil is too fat to fit into coil bracket and when I remove the holding screw and force it down into the bracket I can’t get the screw back into the bracket. Anyone run into this problem with the IC12 coil? I pulled a old coil out of my junk box and it fit just fine but I don’t think it is a “Ballast Resistor” coil.

Volunteer Corvette has a Delco (Made in Mexico) coil but I hate to drop another $52.00 on something that is the same outside diameter as the NAPA/Echlin IC12.

Uncoiled in Alabama.

Why not just put in a longer screw...

Guess I could try that, the biggest problem was the hole alignment was off once the bracket was spread open. I'm sure I could make this work one way or the other.

IIRC...I had to bend a bolt and use a nut on a pickup I had with a B/B in it. Not really the prettiest arrangement, but it worked for my "Hillbilly Hotrod"!!!
