Hey guys.
Finally bought a 63 coupe. pulling it down for paint and got to the outer door seals and SS trim. Its held in by 6 small Philips head screws. Appears they are original and have never been off.
They are tight and I don't want to strip out the heads of the screws.
Any tricks???? thanks! Steve
First use the correct size Philip screw driver. Second as you try to turn it tap the screw driver with a small hammer. If you do mess up the threads just fill the holes up and re-drill them
Once out you can remove the staples and replace the weatherstrip. When I did mine I removed the staples, cleaned and polished the stainess and then clamped the replacement weatherstrip into place, drilled it through the original staple holes and ran the new staples through the holes and bent them over carefully using channel locks.

Abso-freakin-loutely!
One year only...
I did the same thing but made my own weatherstripping....more supple and thinner so windows roll up nice and sweet. Chopped up some Lowes rubber door threshold and that worked just fine...
oh yeah.... I bought a 63 project that had some parts missing. The clock, the drivers side windshield stainless and a few other 63 specific parts. I just bought the windshield stainless yesterday from a guy in town that had an ad on craigslist !!! Go figure. These 63 coupe parts are crazy money but worth every penny to me. Love my new 63 ! I'm an engine builder so I've been building up the motor last week and hope to have it built here soon. The building of the car is half the fun !!
Cripes - you could told us you had a fuelie - now I'm jealous
A forum member on here sold an original, mechanical clock for $250 a week back....I missed it by a few minutes.
You'll be lucky to find one for twice that -- yeah - pretty crazy...
