Default adjusting headlight bucket

can anyone tell me how to adjust my headlight bucket on my 66
coupe? i looked and looked and cannot seem to find any adjustment
screws for the bucket?? exactly where are they located? is it a real
pain in the *** to adjust? how hard is it to get to? can i do it without
taking my whole front end apart?

my drivers side bucket needs to close just a little bit more to align up.

which way do i have to adjust it to close just a little? is there a
headlight stop with a screw ajustment? which way do i turn te screw
left or right? thanks for any insight on this. i know this must not be
easy. thanks again

It's called a "Y-Stop"...

Here is a pic of it and a diagram of location..

It's shown in the AIM. I think it's also in the shop manual

OK, seeing that you are unfamiliar with the procedure, this is what I recommend. Others may give different advice. Disconnect the headlight motor harness connector, carefully. Loosen and remove the bracket to motor screw. Remove clip that secures motor to shaft, and remove headlight motor. It will slide right off.The headlight bucket can now be easily moved by hand. The "y" stop has two bolts that regulate travel,up or down. Carefully loosen or tighten. You will be able to position bucket exactly where you want it. It really is a simple task, but it is a difficult and unnatural position for a person to work from. Have good light to see what you are doing and perhaps a small mirror if you are too big to properly see in there. Take your time, be patient, and you'll get it done. Best...

Excellent advice! Only thing I would add is, prop the hood open with something (a rod at the right length) so to give you another inch or so of working room - helps a lot. Just be sure to secure it well so the hood won't fall and trap your arm!
